In today’s global marketplace, a local airport is a valuable resource.
Aviation provides vital services to individuals, families, churches, hospitals, colleges, and large and small businesses. In addition to general economic benefits for our communities, airports provide convenient and efficient access to remote portions of our state, overnight mail delivery, essential health care, emergency medical transport, and emergency response.
California Aviation Day at the Capitol is presented to inform legislators, staff, and the public about the importance of aviation to the welfare of the California economy and to raise the level of awareness of the benefits of aviation to all Californians.
Our Main Message
- Aviation is vital to the California economy.
- Airports and aviation create jobs.
- State support of California’s airports is completely funded by user fees.
- The historical level of state support is insufficient to sustain the infrastructure.
